On 1st February 2012 ESS will move its Headquarter in Lund to the new Medicon Village, a life science village currently being built up in Lund.

The European Spallation Source project is growing rapidly and to be able to continue the planned development of the organisation, ESS needs larger, more functional premises than today.

On the new location ESS will get the necessary space to expand the activities. ESS is currently in an intensive recruitment phase with ongoing recruitment for physicists, scientists, builders and planners, among others, that are needed to continue the design and construction of the research facility.

ESS’ Headquarter has been at the current location since 2007. Since then the organisation has grown from two personens to almost 100.
