Today a milestone towards building the world’s most powerful neutron source, the European Spallation Source, is set when ESS Scandinavia becomes European Spallation Source ESS AB. With a new logotype and the transfer of staff and activities into the new company ESS gets ready for the next chapter in the history of the next generation neutron source.
– The transfer of staff and activities is fulfilled and we are ready to leave Lund University who has hosted the ESS Scandinavia secretariat until now, says Colin Carlile, CEO ESS AB. We warmly thank Lund University for nurturing the ESS Scandinavia bid for almost ten years now. At the same time ESS gets a new graphic profile with a new logotype, the ESS Orb. – We want to mark that ESS has evolved. Now we will continue to build the international partnership, that is the foundation for ESS. ESS AB is fully owned by the Swedish State. In the future other partners can become shareholders. Today 16 partner countries are represented in the ESS Steering Committee.
