ESS och Eon
ESS Scandinavia and E.ON initiate cooperation as a part of both partners’ ambition to create a climate neutral research facility.

Today, Håkan Buskhe, CEO at E.ON and Colin Carlile, Director for ESS Scandinavia Secretariat at Lund University,signed a Letter of Intent stating that E.On and ESS Scandinavia will cooperate in developing an energy concept in order to make the ESS research facility climate neutral. The cooperation also includes work with finding solutions for transport handling and waste disposal.

-    ESS will be the leading research facility of its kind. Therefore we think it is very important to construct and operate facility in a sustainable way, says Colin Carlile. In Sweden there are lots of experience regarding innovative energy solutions and we look forward to take part of E.ON’s knowledge within this field.

- The cooperation with ESS Scandinavia is important for E.ON, both from a regional and an international perspective. We look forward to contribute with our experiences within the energy concept Sustainable Cities, in order to make ESS a climate neutral research facility, says Håkan Buskhe. If we want to succeed in building a climate neutral facility it’s important to look at everything from the design of the facility to transports and waste handling.

The cooperation will be conducted as a project and is expected to last for approximately one year.
